So, deciding to read through this and seeing a surprising amount say King Slime. I get he's easy but it's easy to forget that in terms of raw damage in Pre-Hardmode he's one of the strongest. Plus, it just makes sense for the first boss(es) to employ the classic trope of "take a vanilla mob, make it big, presto! A boss!"
Now Queen Slime, on the other hand, just feels poorly designed. The constant spam of minions adding projectiles that are extremely difficult to see (although that might just be a me problem) on top of Queen's own bouncing projectiles, alongside her annoying movement patterns, just makes for a unfun boss. I'd like to believe I'm not completely atrocious at dodging since I managed to best Day EoL, but I am not exaggerating when I say I still find Queen much harder.

all prehardmode bosses except WoF or deerclops
I think that compared to the later bosses they could get some ai improvement
golem needs some respect but I just can't say he's good
his ai is pretty bland and can get some improvement
either he does to much damage or to little.
lunatic cultist is kind of lame but I think not
he is pretty creative and cool in my opinion

was going to vote cultist, but he is a cool, yet easy boss that summons the pillars, that's pretty neat
I'm going to say golem just because he doesn't actually force the players to get good equipment from the frost or pumpkin moon, or any other boss, he's just an easy hurdle that you leap over before the lunar events
speaking of lunar events i have only been able to beat the Moonlord so far by cheesing, to hard

I always forget this thread was initially meant for design.
Design wise I'd prolly say Eater of Worlds, but like I said before I think, Skeletron Prime is the worst in game.

This was hard because I really like every boss in this game. I don鈥檛 hate the early bosses for being simple because I think they should be simple, and even though Golem is easy, his design is pretty cool in my opinion. Overall I think my least favorite design is Skeletron Prime just because he鈥檚 the least interesting of the mechs in my opinion.

I think both QS and Destroyer. QS is just bullet spam and hope you can survive long enough to get a heal off, and Destroyer is also bullet spam, but tankier.

Empress of Light I just personally dislike (I have never fought her during a regular playthrough and don't really plan to) but Deerclops I feel like is simply bad overall.
Nobody likes its drops, nobody can agree on when to fight it, and not only can it spawn naturally but it doesn't despawn outside of combat which just doesn't work well in Terraria.
I don't like the fight either; all of its attacks besides the shadow hands are very easy and repetitive if you know what to do, and the 'no ranged combat' thing feels like an annoying requirement that was shoehorned in (I get that the boss would be extremely easy without it, but I feel like encouraging close combat could've been done better than just 'it's invincible if you walk away from it.')

Yeah but he is way to hard for that part of the game. I died to him in my last playthough more times than the moonlord

i don't hate the early bosses but I think they could be more indepth

Yeah I don't care about the rest but hey I think I'm someone who likes some of its drops!
