A life subordinated to a single goal: to make a bunch of pretty and in principle complicit girls perform a single bubblegum pop song of dadaist, regressive simplicity in ever new variations. To do so, one not only has to have right of way on "one's own street", but one also has to master the problem of human sexuality. And of course that is where the trouble starts.
Such a joy. De Funes's usual petite-bourgeois are translated into something more abstract and almost benign, the whole thing plays out like a demented fairytale, looks absolutely stunning and features some surprisingly great musical numbers.
