Team Galactic Eterna Building

Now that you have the Forest Badge, you can use HM01 - Cut to cut down certain trees. You'll find a set of three of them blocking the entrance to the Team Galactic building on the north side of town. Cut them down and proceed inside. A Galactic Grunt will talk to you, but only to reveal himself as the Detective! He'll resume his disguise and let you explore the building.

You can head up the left set of stairs, past the two Grunts to get an X Spec Def, but to proceed, head up the right set of stairs, then the left set of stairs on the second floor, and the left set on the third floor. On the fourth floor, you'll see Galactic Commander Jupiter holding two Pokemon hostage, and a man confronting her. Talk to her and she'll fight you.

After you defeat Jupiter, Team Galactic will disappear from Eterna City. The two Pokemon you've rescued incidentally belong to the Bike Store Owner. Visit him at his shop just south of the Pokemon Center, and you'll run into Cynthia, who will give you a Togepi egg. If you do not have enough room in your party, you will need to deposit a Pokemon in the Pokemon Center PC. Cynthia will leave, so enter the Bike Shop and the owner will thank you by giving you a free bike. The bike has two modes which you can toggle by pressing B while riding it. The speed mode lets you race up mud slides, and you will need this to proceed.

Heading east from Eterna City takes you to Mt Coronet, but you can't advance further in that direction. You'll have to take Cycling Road back to Oreburgh City, so head south onto Route 206. At the gatehouse, you'll see one of Professor Rowan's aides, who will give you an Exp Share if you have seen at least 35 Pokemon.

The Road to Mt Coronet

You must mount your bike before exiting the gatehouse, or the guards won't let you pass. Follow Cycling Road until its end near Oreburgh City. You'll encounter many trainers along the way. Below, you'll see the grassy plains of Route 206. At the other end, exit the gatehouse and use Cut to access Route 206.

At the north end of Route 206, you'll see an opening into Wayward Cave. This area is optional, but holds some valuable items. There is a hidden entrance to Wayward Cave which you can find by continually pressing up on the northern edge of Cycling Road. Refer to the screenshot below for some guidance on exactly where the entrance is.

Continuing south, you can visit Oreburgh City to heal up and get some items, or you can proceed east onto Route 207. Just before the entrance to Mt. Coronet, you'll see Rowan's assistant, who will ask you to pick a hand for an item. It doesn't matter which hand you pick, because you'll receive both items anyway: the first is the VS Seeker, which lets you seek out trainers for a rematch. The second is the Dowsing Machine app for your Poketch, which searchs for hidden items in the nearby vicinity.

At this stage, you will only be passing through a small area of Mt. Coronet. You'll encounter Cyrus along the way, who will talk to you briefly before heading west. Continue east to the exit and onto Route 208.

Continue east and you'll find a small building just before the gatehouse. This is the home of the Berry Master. The little girl will give you a Poketch app called the Berry Finder that lets you keep track of platns with ripe berries. The old man, the Berry Master, will give you a free berry each day. Finally, the woman will sell you a variety of mulches, which have certain effects on the soil where you can plant berries:
- Growth Mulch will speed up berry growth time, but will dry the soil faster
- Damp Mulch slows the growth time, but keeps the soil moist
- Stable Mulch extends the time berries will stay on the plant before falling off
- Gooey Mulch restores soil where plants have withered

You can also pick up an Odd Keystone from the man standing by the yellow tree, just south of the Berry Master's house. You will need this item if you want to catch a Spiritomb.

Hearthome City

As you enter Hearthome City, a stray Buneary will run into you, with its trainer not far behind it. She'll thank you for catching her Buneary and suggest that you drop by the Pokemon Contest Hall. Head there now and you'll find her talking to your Mom. Both women will talk to you about contests, and then leave. Talk to the woman dressed in purple, and she will reveal herself to be Fantina, Hearthome City's Gym Leader. She'll head to her gym where you can challenge her for the Relic Badge. This is different from Diamond and Pearl, where you must earn the Cobble and Fen Badges before challenging Fantina.

There's a couple of things you can do around the city. Visit the house next to the Pokemon Center. This is home to Bebe, the Sinnoh Administrator for the Box System. If you have a spare slot in your team, you can grab an Eevee off her. From now on, her name will appear instead of "Someone's PC" whenever you access the box storage system.

Inside the house to the east of the PokeMart, talk to the elderly gentleman who is the head of the Pokemon Fan Club. After listening to his rambles, he'll give you a Poffin Case, which can be used to store Poffin you bake from berries. This can be done in the Poffin House, which is the house to the west of the PokeMart.

You can also visit Amity Square, which is a park for certain cute Pokemon like Drifloon, Pikachu, Psyduck and Clefairy. There are two entrances, both on the north sides of the city. Each entrance leads to a different area inside Amity Square - note this is different from Diamond and Pearl. Inside, your Pokemon may pick up some fashion accessories or some berries. You can also head in to get some items like TM43 - Secret Power, TM45 - Attract and an Amulet Coin. You'll also notice that the clay houses will transport you to another part of Amity Square, something they didn't do in Diamond and Pearl.

When you are ready, head to the gym. You will notice it has a completely different layout from Diamond and Pearl. The idea is to find the pattern on the blue tile, then enter the door with the corresponding pattern on a red tile. However, the room is dark and the only source of illumination is your flashlight and the eyes on the Duskull Lamps. Note that the pattern will change each time you enter the room! If you head through the wrong door, you'll find yourself back at the beginning, so it's in your best interest to get it right. Here's a look at a sample room with all the lights turned on:

Ghost Pokemon don't have many weaknesses, so it's difficult to recommend a particular type of Pokemon to use. If your Pokemon have Dark or Ghost attacks, they will definitely come in handy. Normal Pokemon can be used as an immunity against those Ghost moves, but make sure they're able to use non-Normal and non-Fighting moves!

When the battle is over, Fantina will give you the Relic Badge, which gives you the ability to use HM05 - Defog outside of battle. You'll also get TM65 - Shadow Claw, which is a Ghost move that has a high critical hit rate.
